Triathlon's and Adventure Races lead the field this month with an amazing line up of World Class Events, right on our doorstep.

The Fun Run Pink Events are up and running in August with all-female events. A fun and inspiring course run in both Sydney and Melbourne for all fitness levels from 5 to 80years+. This is your chance to get together with family and friends and have a go.

Mountain Designs GeoQuest launches in Port Macquarie with their exciting 48hr adventure race. Navigate by trekking, mountain biking and kayaking through an amazing 200km+ course for teams.

Vanuatu Adventure Race will see teams of two travel through the beautiful villages, coastlines, farmland, islands and rainforests of beautiful Vanuatu while trekking, paddling, snorkeling, swimming, biking, abseiling and navigating.

The Anaconda Adventure Race series moves to the beautiful Gold Coast with their challenging off-road Adventure series. Race down golden beaches, along tropical waterways and hinterland wilderness in an unforgettable event.

We will see 50 teams of two chasing checkpoints through local villages, along crystal clear coastlines, through scenic farmland, rainforest and neighbouring islands. Teams will trek/run, paddle local outriggers, snorkel, swim, mountain bike, abseil and navigate throughout this staged event.

I first starting competing in 2006. I am currently training for the Pinkie Triathlon and hope to compete in the Gatorade Enticer Tri Series. Being in my fifties these active sports allow me to excel and push myself where the majority of my peers are not I have an amazing social network of friends of all ages and both sexes can be out of my comfort zone and nervous and be encouraged by those a quarter of my age life is great and there is so much to do.

One thing I dislike: 4.30 start in the winter to train.
